In what many considered the toughest Class 3A football district in the state (all four playoff 5-3A Division 1 teams were ranked), district champion Mineola held its own in the voting for all-district honors.

Trevion Sneed, the senior running back and a defensive stalwart as well, was named the league’s most valuable player.

Also earning superlative honors was Koby Kendrick, the senior defensive end who consistently made tackles behind the line.

Jackson Anderson, another outstanding two-way starter, earned co-offensive lineman honors with Pottsboro’s Silas Barr. Both are seniors.

And the Mineola coaching staff earned top honors as well.

On the all-district first team offense were sophomore running back Dawson Pendergrass, senior tight end Hunter Wright, senior center Dawson Elmore and junior lineman Kaleb Barton.

First team defense honors included Pendergrass at defensive back, Wright at linebacker, sophomore TJ Moreland at defensive back and senior Thomas Hooton at defensive back.

Each school named a utility player of the year, and Hooton earned that honor. He was also a wide receiver.

Senior place kicker Nathan Rojas garnered Mineola’s special teams player of the year.

Second team offense honors went to Moreland at quarterback and junior offensive lineman Nate Griffin.

The second team defense included senior KeJuan Fite at tackle, Griffin at lineman and defensive backs Coy Anderson and Jaxon Holland, both juniors.

The nod for honorable mention included junior defensive end Juan Ramos, junior defensive back Drew Robertson, junior defensive tackle Oliver Barnes, sophomore defensive back Adam Blalock and sophomore lineman Isaiah Gardner.

Earning spots on the academic all-district honor roll were senior kicker Gustavo Sanchez, senior wide receiver/defensive backs Riley Fowler and Levi Bowden, Hooton, Jackson Anderson, Rojas, Ramos, Moreland, Blalock and Gardner.
