District champion Mineola earned three superlative awards in the boys all-district basketball voting, while fourth place and bidistrict champion Quitman had three first-teamers.

Mineola, Quitman achieve post-season awards
District champion Mineola earned three superlative awards in the boys all-district basketball voting, while fourth place and bidistrict champion Quitman had three first-teamers.
Mineola junior T.J. Moreland was named the district’s most valuable player while junior Dawson Pendergrass was the defensive MVP and freshman Xzavien Lipscomb was the freshman of the year.
Senior Stephen Ogueri was a first-team selection for the Yellowjackets, along with Bulldogs Ford Tannebaum, a senior, and Levi Thompson and Brady Floyd, juniors.
Second team honors went to Mineola juniors Hunter Vandover and Conner Gibson and sophomore Braydon Alley.
Quitman second-teamers were juniors Hunter Jacobs and Landon Richey.
Senior Jack Tannebaum of Quitman was honorable mention.
The aforementioned Quitman players were named academic all-district along with Ethan Presley, Garin Kisinger, Justin Mathews, Carter Smith and Matthew Smith.
