Nov. 7
6:15 a.m. Officers responded to a death investigation on Sycamore St. of a 57 year old man found deceased by family members at his residence. Justice of the Peace Pct. 2 Janae Holland pronounced the man deceased from natural causes after a long battle with health issues.
5:19 p.m. A disturbance was reported in the yard at a residence on North Johnson St. Officers spoke with the parties involved. One party had already left and the other parties stated it was just an argument.
5:54 p.m. A welfare concern was reported by a man in reference to his sister picking up their mom and leaving with her. The family member reported that the vehicle was sitting at McDonald’s for a long period of time. An officer checked on the occupants and determined they were just talking and everything was fine.
8:00 p.m. A welfare concern was reported in reference to a man walking in the roadway and appeared to be stumbling. Officers located the subject that was intoxicated. Richard Gregory, 56 of Mineola was arrested for public intoxication.

Nov. 8
10:00 a.m. A resident on Sycamore St. reported a check stolen from his residence and forged. The resident reported he believed the theft to be from a known person. This is under investigation.
11:49 a.m. A business on E. Broad St. reported a suspicious person walking back and forth in the parking lot. An officer responded to speak with the man. The man was transported by the officer to a local motel.
5:16 p.m. A dispute was reported between a man and a woman over property at the residence. An officer responded and determined this to be a civil matter between the two.

Nov. 9
9:18 a.m. An officer assisted Wood County S.O. on a traffic stop on Loop 564.
12:29 p.m. A resident on Edwards St. reported some family members having a verbal disturbance at her residence. An officer responded to the residence and spoke with the parties involved. The officer informed the two the situation was a civil matter.
1:04 p.m. A burn violation was reported on Carolyn St. An officer spoke with the residents and had them put out the fire.
3:23 p.m. A woman reported that an ex-boyfriend picked up her medication without her permission at the pharmacy. This is under investigation.
7:15 p.m. A wallet was turned in that was found on the side of the roadway on East Broad St. The wallet was returned to the owner.

Nov. 10
5:29 p.m. A verbal disturbance was reported at a residence on Landers St. Officers determined it to be a civil argument over some property the mother was refusing to give to her daughter.
6:26 p.m. An officer assisted a stranded motorist by giving them a ride to work.
11:17 p.m. A stranded motorist on W. Broad was assisted by an officer who transported them to get fuel at the convenience store and back to their vehicle.

Nov. 11
9:05 a.m. An employee at Chevron reported receiving repeated phone calls from another employee’s family members. The situation was handled internally.
10:07 a.m. An officer responded to the train depot when it was reported that a passenger was refusing to leave the depot. An officer responded and spoke with the passenger and determined they needed a place to stay overnight. The officer got the person a room at the motel through Ministerial Alliance.
4:48 p.m. A dog bite was reported on Phillips St. when a visitor at a residence was bit on the back of the calf by the family dog. The dog was quarantined at the shelter.

Nov. 12
8:10 a.m. An officer assisted a stranded motorist that needed their battery jumped off on Greenville Ave.
8:11 p.m. An officer checked on a suspicious male and female at the train depot, but determined they were just stargazing.
11:05 p.m. Officers assisted EMS at a residence on Landers St. The resident refused transport by EMS.

Nov. 13
1:42 a.m. A suspicious person was reported walking in and out of the Edward Jones business on E. Broad St. The officer made contact and determined the person to be working late.
12:21 p.m. Officers assisted EMS at Goodwill when a customer had a medical issue. The man was transported to the hospital by EMS.
