July 23 

7:00 p.m. Officers responded to the 100 block of Francis St. in reference to a disturbance. Several of the residents were upset over a trash can being moved and signs being posted on the property. The subjects were separated and advised to contact their landlord.

10:45 p.m. Officers were requested to assist EMS in the 100 block of Minwood St. Officers responded to the area and made contact with the caller prior to the ambulances arrival. Officers were able to provide assistance to the resident.

11:56 p.m. Marvin Carr, 63, of Mineola was arrested after a traffic stop was conducted in the 1000 block of S. Pacific St. Carr was found to be in possession of a controlled substance and was arrested. Donald Buchanan, 47, of Gilmer was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant out of Wood County. Buchanan was a passenger in the Carr vehicle. After a wanted persons check, Buchanan showed to have an outstanding warrant.

July 24

6:54 p.m. A resident in the 800 block of Second St. reported that his roommate had thrown a rock at his vehicle breaking the back glass. The window was broken after the two had an argument.  Officers talked with everyone involved and the two males separated for the evening.  A criminal mischief report was completed. 

11:47 p.m. Officers were requested to assist EMS with a medical issues in the 600 block of Kevin St. The scene was released to EMS.   

July 25

9:45 a.m. A theft was reported in the 300 block of Wren St. The owner reported that someone had entered into his vehicle and had removed items from the vehicle without his consent. The items had been removed during the nighttime hours. A list of the items missing was added to the report. This case is under investigation. 

10:13 a.m. Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Chaparral St. when a resident reported a burglary of a motor vehicle. The reporting party stated that an unknown person had entered into his vehicle overnight and had taken items from the inside of the vehicle. A report was made by officers and forwarded to investigations. 

6:44 p.m. Officers was requested in the 400 block of Giles St. when a homeowner stated that a truck and trailer doing work nearby had damaged the sewer line on his property. Officers made contact with all parties and the line was repaired. 

7:56 p.m. Officers responded to the 500 block of Wren Street when a man trying to get his loose dog was approached and threatened by the property owner. The dog owner stated that a man had pointed a weapon at him and his dog. Officers talked with all parties involved and it was determined that the weapon was present due to the man being fearful of the dog on his property and the fear of what the dog might do to the small children who were outside.  

11:14 p.m. Officers were asked to assist Wood County deputies on a loud music complaint on FM 1254 due to their officer being tied up on another call. The officer talked with the homeowners and the music was turned down. 

July 26

 3:52 a.m. Dispatch received two 9-1-1 calls in reference to a disturbance in the 300 block of E. Good St. involving a man with a gun. When officers talked with the reporting parties it was found the man had left the property prior to officer’s arrival and the caller stated that no gun was ever seen. The homeowners wished to have the man criminally trespassed from the property, however they could not give the officers the man’s name.  The property owners stated that they would call if the man returned. 

7:54 p.m. A suspicious woman was reported in the parking lot of Walmart when a caller stated that a woman was having problems and appeared to be acting in an odd manner. Officers made contact with the woman and after further investigation the woman was transported to the hospital for medical assistance. 

8:24 p.m. A disturbance was reported in the 100 block of Krause St. between two brothers. Prior to officers arrival one bother had left the property on foot. Officers talked with everyone at the residence and advised an assault report will be made. 

8:53 p.m. A loud music complaint was reported in the 100 block of Frances St. The residence was located by officers and the homeowners were informed of the city ordinance violation. The music was turned down. 

9:20 p.m. A caller reported loud music coming from the basketball courts on Wren St.  Officers made contact with several people at the location and the music was turned down. 

July 27

2:11 a.m. A woman contacted the department and stated she was assaulted by her husband in the 900 block of N. Johnson St. Officers arrived on scene and talked with everyone at the residence. It was found no physical altercation had occurred and no one wished to file charges.

9:57 a.m. A resident in the 1700 block of N. Newsom St. reported finding what they believed to be drugs on the ground in the parking lot. Officers responded to the location and found a bag of a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana. The officer retrieved the bag and logged the item into found property. 

July 28

12:07 a.m. Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Stone St. in reference to criminal mischief. The caller stated that an unknown person had thrown a rock through the back window glass of her parked vehicle. This case is under investigation.

2:13 a.m. Officers responded to the 500 block of W. Blair St. in reference to a damaged window. A witness stated that he was outside and observed a vehicle drive by. The witness stated that the window then broke. After further investigation it was found that the window had been broken by a small glass bottle. The homeowner did not want a report of the incident and stated that he would take care of repairing the window.

3:38 a.m. A caller stated that her boyfriend’s windshield had been damaged while parked in the 400 block of McWhorter St. Officers responded to the area to find that the windshield had been damaged. The owner of the vehicle was unable to give any suspect information and advised that he was not having any issues with anyone at this time. The incident was documented as requested by the owner.

5:15 a.m. Officers were dispatched to the 400 of McDaniels St. in reference to a burglary of a motor vehicle. Upon arrival officers found that two separate unlocked vehicles had been entered into without the owner’s consent. The suspects removed property from one of the unsecured vehicles. A suspect has been listed in this offense. Investigation continues.

8:48 a.m. Several calls were received of a suspicious person acting strangely. Dispatchers started receiving calls in the 1200 block of N. Pacific St. The caller stated that the man was screaming at people who were just passing by. The subject was located and a criminal trespass was completed for that location.

9:26 a.m. Dispatchers received a call of a shirtless man acting strangely at the gazebo on Commerce Street. Officers arrived on the scene and found that it was the same person that had been reported on N. Pacific St. The man’s family was notified and was later picked up by a family member.

10:20 a.m. Dispatch received a call from a man in the 700 block of Greenville Hwy. in reference to him receiving threats by text messages. The man stated that he lived in another city but was concerned due to the threats being made. The investigators started researching the numbers and after further investigation it was found to be a friend pranking him. All of the incident started out as being a joke and went very wrong at some point. No charges were filed. 

12:07 p.m. A theft of a bicycle was reported in the 600 block of N. Pacific St. A description of the bicycle was obtained. Investigation continues.

12:33 p.m. Officers responded to the area of N. Johnson St. and W. Patten St. in reference to found property. Upon arrival officers found an abandoned bicycle beside the roadway. The caller from the missing bicycle was notified but the found bicycle was not the one he had reported.

4:23 p.m. A theft was reported from a business in the 500 block of E. Broad St. The store manager stated a female left the store with merchandise and failed to offer payment before exiting the store. The female then jumped into a vehicle and sped off east bound on E. Broad St. This case is under investigation.

5:17 p.m. A disturbance was reported in the 500 block of W. Blair St. The caller stated that three or four people were at his front door causing a problem. Officers responded to the scene and found that the subjects had left the area before officers arrival.

9:36 p.m. Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Stone St. in reference to an assault. After further investigation the subject stated that he did not want to file charges against the suspect. An incident report was completed.

July 29

12:26 a.m. A woman stated that her adult son had damaged her vehicle while they were in a parking lot in the 1200 block of N. Johnson St. The incident was documented but the mother did not wish to pursue charges. 

5:36 p.m. A woman reported she had been assaulted by her husband. Officers responded to the 400 block of South St. Both parties were separated. Officers talked with both parties involved and a waiver of non-prosecution was signed. A report was completed and a family violence package was given to the caller.
