Mineola Police Report, Sept. 19-25

Sept. 22

9:13 a.m. A driver rammed the side of the Mineola Garden Apartments on North Pacific Street.  The fire department, EMS and SWEPCO assisted in removing the driver, Eddie Earl Harris, 53, of Mineola. Harris was arrested for DUI.  Two apartments were damaged causing the tenants to be displaced. No injuries were reported.

Mineola Police Report, Sept. 19-25

Sept. 19

12:28 p.m. Danny Lynn Nabors, 56, of Grand Saline, was arrested for a parole violation after being stopped on Greenville Avenue.

5:09 p.m. An officer counseled two individual involved in text message harassment.

7:05 p.m. A disconnected 911 call led officers to a residence on Stone Street. After on-site interviews both parties signed a non-prosecution request.

11:25 p.m. A disturbance was reported between two brothers at a residence on Goodson Street.  Officers responded and determined the altercation to be verbal only. 

Sept. 20

12:16 a.m. Shrika Chavon Slayton, 40, of Mineola, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, after being stopped for riding a bicycle without lights on the street.  A methamphetamine pipe with residue was discovered in her backpack.

9:57 a.m. Officers assisted with a medical call at Lakeside Place. The resident was transported to the hospital.

3:24 p.m. Two female drivers were reported yelling at one another at a convenience store on East Broad Street. The responding officer counseled each driver and they parted ways.

11:35 p.m. An officer assisted Grand Saline P.D. in stemming verbal harassment between two females from the respective cities.

Sept. 21

7:01 p.m. A dispute between brothers on Goodson Street resulted in intervention by an officer. The brothers separated. 

7:11 p.m. A resident on Wood Street reported she could not get a family member to leave the residence. An officer responded and the family member left the residence.

8:09 p.m. A concerned citizen reported a young teenager walking down the highway. The responding officer determined the female was not a teenager, and needed a ride to Emory. She secured a ride.

8:50 p.m. A resident on Meadowbrook Street reported a suspicious male in his yard. An officer responded, identified the man and gave him a ride home.

10:14 p.m. A man was reported out in his yard on Read Street yelling and screaming. After officer intervention the man went back inside his home. 

10:36 p.m. A resident on Molly Lane reported hearing a possible gunshot and seeing a male run past her window. Officers responded and spoke with a witness who reported that he saw people throwing firecrackers out a car window. 

Sept. 22

1:07 a.m. Ashlie Ana-Marie Daley, 26, was arrested for public intoxication at the Mineola Country Club. At closing time, Daley committed an assault which led to a call for assistance. The complainant did not wish to file charges and signed a non-prosecution request.

3:08 a.m. Officers assisted EMS in treating a woman who pulled in to the police department and exhibited medical concerns. The woman was transported to the hospital.

8:27 a.m. A restaurant on West Broad Street reported an elderly man exposing himself to the employees when his food is delivered.  The case is under investigation.

Sept. 23

8:47 a.m. A 58-year old man was found deceased at his residence on South Pacific Street. Justice of the Peace Janae Holland pronounced the man deceased and ordered an autopsy.

11:36 a.m. A man was trespassed from a car wash on East Broad Street at the request of the owner and from a convenience store on East Broad Street.

Sept. 24

6:51 a.m. A business on North Pacific Street reported finding a baggie of narcotics at the front door. The baggie contained methamphetamine.

8:37 a.m. A welfare concern was reported for an elderly resident on Pat Drive. The resident was taken to the hospital by the Wood County Sheriff’s Department.

2:09 p.m. An officer assisted the MISD Police Department with a welfare concern for some children at a residence on East McDonald Street.

5:39 p.m. A sexual assault allegation was forwarded to Wood County Sheriff’s Department.

6:01 p.m. Officers responded to Miller Street for a medical call. The resident was transported to the hospital.

9:34 p.m. An anonymous caller reported loud music at a residence on Mimosa Street. An officer responded to the residence. The officer noted the music was not very loud, but the resident agreed to turn the music down for the night.

Sept. 25

1:39 p.m. A welfare concern was investigated with a man that came into the police department from out of town and appeared to be confused. Family members were contacted.

5:52 p.m. Officers responded to a convenience store on North Pacific Street where a six-year old girl had entered without  an accompanying adult.  The police department then received a call from the First Baptist Church regarding the child’s whereabouts. The officer transported the child to the church and spoke with her mother, who had dropped the girl off at the church. 

6:10 p.m. A civil disturbance was reported at CVS on a child custody exchange. One party reported the other party for not having a car seat. An officer responded to the location and determined that the grandmother was waiting for the father to bring the car seat.

6:40 p.m. A civil disturbance was again reported from CVS regarding the absence of a car seat for a child.  Officers determined the father had arrived with the car seat and the child left with the father.

6:46 p.m. A theft report was filed by a resident of West McDonald Street. 

7:27 p.m. A familial assault occurred on Baker Street.  The case is under investigation, due to both parties claiming innocence.
