By the time you read this, we will have finished our participation in this year’s East Texas Day of Giving. Our goal was to raise $2,500 to use toward upgrading our computer hardware, finish landscaping and prepare for the summer reading program. Did you have the opportunity to donate? Did you forget but still want to donate? You may donate cash or check to the Mineola Memorial Library any time by mailing in a check made payable to the library or by stopping by and dropping off your donation. Our address is 301 N. Pacific, Mineola TX 75773.

Two staff members attended the Texas Library Association’s Annual Conference in Fort Worth. They are exhausted but have returned after reconnecting with librarians they only see once a year, making new friends, and learning new things.

The countdown is on until the end of the school year and the beginning of summer activities in the library. This program will begin Wednesday, June 1 at 1 p.m. and will last for one hour. Each week will bring an opportunity to turn in reading logs and participate in crafts, games, and/or STREAM activities. What is STREAM? Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Art and Math.

We try very hard to post our activities on our website: mineolalibrary.com and to our Facebook page. Be sure the page you explore belongs to the Mineola Memorial Library in Texas. The New York library is a great little library like us, but they are on the East Coast and we are here in the Piney Woods with you.

Your donations to the Mineola Memorial Library are always happily accepted and may be tax-deductible. The Mineola Memorial Library has received donations from Joyce Burgess, Patty Corbett and Lou Steele and a donation in memory of Jeanene Upton by Ruth Loftin.
