It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Needing some inspiration? Stop by and check out a cookbook, craft book or just a book to read about the holiday. We have a very nice collection of holiday books for the young and young at heart.

Once again, I want to say “thank you” to our patrons for being so patient while we had new flooring installed. Our patrons were given very short notice of our closure but were very understanding. If you haven’t had a chance to stop by and see the new floors made possible by a grant from the Meredith Foundation, please come visit. Remember, wear your mask, watch your distance, wash your hands, and stay home if you do not feel well.

Thursday, Dec. 10 at 4 p.m. will be the Annual Open Meeting of the Board of the Mineola Memorial Library. At this time we will give a brief state-of-the-library address and update you on the board members either resigning or renewing their position on the board. We will not have a traditional open house, but there will be items through out the library, while supplies last, to share with our patrons.

East Texas Library Friends book club will not meet in December due to the COVID-19 numbers. The next meeting is tentatively scheduled for January to discuss “Long, Bright River.” Stay tuned for updates and details.

Thank you again for visiting and using the Mineola Memorial Library. Our patrons mean a lot to us. In the next column, we’ll give you an update on what the library has been able to offer and accomplish over the past year.

The Mineola Memorial Library is a 501(c)3, non-profit, and your donations are not only appreciated, they are tax-deductible.
