Sampler classes set this week at Mineola League of the Arts
The Mineola League of the Arts is gearing up for Sampler Week, during which the organization offers various classes to the public for only $5 each, including supplies.
The week is set to begin Saturday through Friday, Aug. 20 through Aug. 26. The hours will be 10 a.m. to noon and 1:30-3:30 p.m. each day.
The Sampler Week gives the public a chance to experience an artwork form that they might otherwise not have done to see if they like it, according to League Secretary Sharon Robertson. The league will offer 15 classes. The classes and projects will be over photography, making eyeglass cases, metal abstract work, woven four-patch coasters, vintage tags, Chihuly, birdhouse and wire sculpture, crochet potholders, clay sculpture, oil landscape painting, metal jewelry, encaustic painting, scrubbies, web painting and beginning line dance.
There will also be a painters’ business meeting and demonstration by Paula Hodge on Monday, Aug. 22 at 2 p.m. at no charge.
The schedule is available online or at the league building. For more information call the league building at 903-569-8877.
