Greetings to all! We are beginning the count down to summer break from school and graduations of all kinds! Congratulations to all our graduates - especially Daniel at the library for his college graduation and for Emily, Kaleigh and Russell for their high school graduations!
Just a reminder the library will be closed on Saturday, May 5 for staff to be able to attend Daniel’s graduation. It will be closed on Saturday, May 26 for the Memorial Day weekend.
The Friends of the Mineola Memorial Library will meet on May 3 at 1 p.m. Join this dynamic group and discover how you can help the library.
American Girls will meet on Saturday, May 12 at 10 a.m. You must sign up in order to be able to attend the meeting. Sign-ups will be accepted through close on business on Wednesday, May 9. You may visit the library and sign up at the front desk or you may call 903-569-2767.
After /school programs and Wednesday morning story times will continue through May 23. The following week our Summer Reading Programs will begin. The library has lots of great things in store so please, stay tuned for times. This year’s Summer Reading Programs will be spread out over the week instead of trying to have everyone in the facility at the same time.
After school programs are on Tuesday afternoons at 4 p.m. Wednesday morning storytimes are 10:15 a.m. for toddlers ages 18 months to 3 years and their parents. Pre School Story Time meets after the toddlers at 11:15 a.m. and is for children ages 3, 4, and 5 and their parents.
The Library Book Club will meet for the last time until September on Thursday, May 17 at 6 p.m. They will be discussing “Cold Sassy Tree” by Olive Ann Burns.
If you need something to fill the space of the library book club, you might try the East Texas Library Friends book club. They will be meeting at the Mineola Memorial Library on Saturday, June 2 at 2 p.m. to discuss the “Art of Fielding” by Chad Harbach. At this meeting, the group will select three additional books to read.
The last Family Craft Day will be Friday, May 18 at 1 p.m. This is a time for families to join together to make a craft and memories.
