Mineola man faces murder charge
Timell Tiquan Jones, 23, of Mineola, was arrested at a home in Mineola on Wednesday, Sept. 9 for the murder of Dustin James Thomas, 20, of Dallas.
The Wood County Sheriff’s Dept. and the Mineola Police Dept. arrested Jones on Stone St. on a warrant issued by the district court. He was taken into custody without incident and is being held in the Wood County jail on a $1 million bond.
The homicide occurred on County Road 2800, just west of Mineola, late Sept. 6 or early Sept. 7, according to Sheriff Tom Castloo.
Thomas had been visiting a girl friend whose family just recently moved to Mineola when he went missing on Sept. 6. His body was found on the 7th.
A Go Fund Me account has been started to help the family with funeral expenses.
According to the account page, “DJ was the man of his family and always financially supported his single mother & siblings. DJ was loved by many and will be greatly missed. The loss of his presence will leave a scar in many lives.”
