Mineola bows to Madison in hard-fought regional quarterfinal playoff contest
In a wild regional qualifying playoff basketball game, the Mineola Yellowjackets fell to the Dallas Madison Trojans 68-53 Tuesday night in Terrell.
The Jackets trailed by as much as 17 points in the first half, and it looked as though the Trojans were in control.
A determined Yellowjacket side came out for the second half and began on a 17-0 run.
Mineola took the lead early, 45-44, in the final quarter when Dawson Pendergrass put back an offensive rebound.
The game was undecided until the final three minutes, when Madison made the plays they needed to open the winning margin.
Madison is the defending state champion in 3A.
