Mildred Maxine Godbey, 1931-2020

Mildred Maxine Godbey, 89, of Mineola passed away on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2020 in Tyler. She was born on July 26, 1931 in Mineola to the late Robert Alvin Blalock and Marguret Blanche Edwards Blalock. Mrs. Godbey was a member of Smith Chapel United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women (UMW). She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Ray Godbey. She is survived by a daughter, Cynthia Clark of Mineola; a son, Craig Godbey of Mineola; two grandsons, Harley Clark and Forrest Clark; three great-grandchildren, Abigail, Landon and Hadley; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2020 at Smith Chapel UMC with the Rev. Jim Pickens officiating. Memorials may be made to The Hospice of East Texas or Smith Chapel United Methodist Church.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
