Dear Editor:

In 1955, the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) petitioned Congress to set aside September 17-23 annually to be dedicated for the observance of Constitution Week.

Have you read the constitution?

Many of us may read The Preamble and the Declaration of Independence, but have you really read the constitution of this great country? This is the document by which we are to be governed! We read parts of it, but how few have read all of it. I challenge you, readers, to go to the library or go online and read all of "your" Constitution. Study and work to understand it.

Our Patriotism can assure our political leaders we want to keep our nation firmly guided by our Constitution. Take a moment and think what America was founded on.

Thank-you,

Lucille GilbreathProud member of the Elizabeth DentonEnglish Chapter of NSDAR
