It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Kathryn Tipton, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister. As she left this world on Oct. 14, 2024 in Quitman, she leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will forever be cherished by those who knew her.

Born on Dec. 23, 1950 in Seminole, Okla. Linda was the cherished daughter of Grover Mainord and Bertha Mainord (née Bister). Moving to Texas after high school graduation, Linda built a successful career and retired from the City of Euless.

Linda’s life was a testament to her faith, love and family. She shared her life with her devoted husband, Doland Lynn Tipton, whom she married on July 31, 1970. Together, they welcomed their daughter, Loralei Hoggard, who brought immense joy to their lives. Linda will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren, who brought her endless happiness and pride and called her “Grammy.”

Throughout her life, Linda touched the hearts of all who knew her with her warm and loving personality. Linda, a knowledgeable Bible teacher, often led worship with her husband Lynn. A talented musician, she led vocally while playing the piano. She found solace and strength in her faith, attending services at the Eagle Mountain International Church. Linda’s presence brought light to those around her.

In her passing, Linda leaves behind a grieving family, including her husband, Lynn Tipton; daughter, Loralei Hoggard and husband David; sisters, Deloris Jennings and Evelyn Stevens; brother, Gilbert Mainord; grandchildren, Harrison Hoggard, Grant Hoggard and wife Reagan, Preston Hoggard, and Gabriel Hoggard; and many nieces and nephews.

A private family interment will take place at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas.
