Local bank welcomes new officer & board member

Marshall Mitchell has been elected as a new director of BT Holdings and Jason Fraizer as vice president of BankTexas' Winnsboro branch, according to Juan D. Nichols, chairman of BT Holdings, Inc., and Troy Robinson, president of BankTexas.

A Longview native, Mitchell had a 40-year career with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) where he served as the Assistant Deputy Comptroller from 1997-2011. Other positions held in his tenure include field manager, commissioned National Bank Examiner, and examiner-in-charge of all size community and mid-size bank examinations.

Since 2011 Mitchell has been acting as an Independent Bank Consultant, providing a wide range of services to banks that address regulation and operating challenges in the everchanging banking environment.

"We are pleased to have Mitchell join our group. He has a long-standing career in the banking industry with extensive experience in banking regulation," said Nichols. "With his experience and specialized knowledge, we are confident that Mr. Mitchell will be an important contributor to our board."

Jason Fraizer comes to BankTexas with a wide range of business experience, including agribusiness and banking skills gained at positions with Farm Country, Inc., Guaranty Bond Bank and Keller's Creamery. He has been serving as City President since September where he is responsible for originating loans for the Winnsboro market.

"Jason Fraizer's strong background in both agriculture and business has been an asset to BankTexas' customers. Since joining the bank in September, he has exemplified a commitment to seeing that his customers' banking needs are consistently met," Robinson commented.
