Quitman Fire Department reported averaging four firefighters and one vehicle per call in July.
The department served on 39 calls, 13 in the city and 26 in the county. They were assisted by other fire departments one time and assisted other departments five times.
The department reported they worked 17 EMS assists; seven grass / brush fires; four house fires; three motor vehicle accidents; one recovery of a vehicle from a lake and one removal of a tree from across an Farm-to-Market road.
