Last week to file for city, school elections
The final day to sign up for places on the ballot for the May 2 city council and school board elections is Friday, Feb. 14.
As of Tuesday morning the following had filed:
Quitman City Council
Incumbents Susan Resnik, Jack Robinson, J.R. Evans and challenger Steve Glenn for three two-year terms.
Quitman ISD
Incumbents Jane Herring and Raymond Peek and challenger Dustin Emerson have signed up for the two three-year terms.
Yantis ISD
Incumbents Melissa Stephens and Jennifer McKeever and challenger Teresa Starrett have signed up.
Yantis City
Incumbents Betty Jenkins and Kenneth Kincaid have signed up; incumbent Reed Gammille had not signed up as of Tuesday morning. There are three two-year terms up for election.
Alba City
Incumbents Robert Kraemer, Tammy Kirkpatrick and Larry Jones have signed up for the three seats.
Mineola ISD
Incumbent John Abbott is the only one to file for the two seats, which are three-year terms.
Mineola City
Incumbents Sue Jones-Ward One and Jayne Lankford-Ward Two have filed for their seats, and Cassandra Sampson has filed for the Ward Three seat.
Alba-Golden ISD
Filing for four seats are Jason Stovall, Johnny Teel and Dana Weissert for the full terms and Grant Sadler for the unexpired term.
