Lady Panthers rout foes for district wins
Alba-Golden Lady Panthers posted two big wins last week.
The Lady Panthers shut down Fruitvale 23-0 last Tuesday and followed with an 11-0 victory over Sulphur Bluff Friday.
Erin Langston had four hits and Cacie Lennon and Megan Wallace two each against Fruitvale.
Sara Hodges drew four walks. Wallace had three runs batted in and Hailey Crutchfield and Kirsty Jackson-Colgrove two each.
Wallace threw four innings and struck out six.
The Lady Panthers scored six in the first, 12 in the second and five in the third. They outhit Fruitvale 11-2.
Skyler West got a one hitter against Sulphur Bluff while the Lady Panthers scored in their first four at bats to build the lead, capped by a five-run fourth. West fanned nine.
Kayli Covey had three hits and Kylie Kennedy two. Covey also drove in four wins with Reese Michaels and Rylee Wilcoxson two apiece. Abby Hallman and Kalli Wright each drew two walks.
On Thursday, April 1 Alba-Golden shut out Yantis 11-0.
Skyler West had three hits and threw six shutout innings, striking out 10.
Kayli Covey and Kylie each drove in three runs.
