Mineola and Quitman were each well-represented on the District 13-3A post season basketball team. State finalist Winnsboro and district runner-up Chapel Hill dominated the superlative choices.

Lady Jackets and Bulldogs all-district

Mineola and Quitman were each well-represented on the District 13-3A post season basketball team. State finalist Winnsboro and district runner-up Chapel Hill dominated the superlative choices.

Louisiana-Monroe signee Faith Acker of Winnsboro took home the Most Valuable Player distinction while teammates Kaitlyn McAdoo and Halie Deaton were Co-Defensive Players of the Year along with Mt. Vernon’s Summer Rogers.

Quitman’s outstanding young post, Annabelle Popek, was named the district’s Freshman of the Year.

Mineola’s Mylee Fischer, Jayla Jackson and Kyra Jackson were named to the first team. The Lady ‘Jackets turned a fourth place finish into a three-deep run in the playoffs before they were ousted by district champ and state finalist Winnsboro in the quarter-finals. Mineola also had second team representative Macy Fischer.

Quitman seniors Kaysi Parker and Maddy Pence were each selected for the first team. Sophomore teammates Allie Berry and Sadie Vander Schaaf were named to the second team.

Mineola and Quitman each had two players make honorable mention. For Quitman, it was juniors Addie Marcee and Ashley Davis. Mineola sophomores Paris Spigner and Carmen Carrasco were also named honorable mention.

Mineola and Quitman had several players on the academic all-district team. Mineola had Tanna Hartzog, Mylee Fischer, Macy Fisher, Myah Joyner, Carmen Carrasco, Gracie Lindley and Paris Spigner. 

Quitman placed Madyson Pence, Kaysi Parker, Ashley Davis, Addie Marcee, Alexus Richey, Sadie VanderSchaaf and Larkin Spears.
