Lady Bulldogs win in extra innings, 8-7
The Quitman Lady Bulldogs got in a thrilling 8-7 extra-inning victory at Frankston in their last game before beginning district. The nine-inning affair came after Quitman went ahead in the top of the ninth inning.
Senior hurler Shelby Hayes came on in relief of Reiny Luman who had tossed the first eight innings. Hayes added to the drama by striking out the side in the bottom of the ninth to preserve the one-run lead and give the Lady Bulldogs the win.
Quitman was set to play Alba-Golden Friday to open District 12-3A play but was stopped by the weather. The game has been rescheduled as part of a district doubleheader April 7 at Alba-Golden.
