Kratzmeyer sets pole vault record at UT-Tyler
It didn’t take Abby Kratzmeyer of Mineola long to make her mark in the pole vault at the University of Texas at Tyler.
The freshman cleared 3.91 meters (just over 12’8”) at the final event of the fall track season in Pittsburg, Kan. Dec. 4 to break the three-year old school record by .41 meters (16 inches).
She placed second in the event.
Kratzmeyer signed with the Patriots after earning two golds and a silver at the state meet during her career at Mineola High School. (The state meet was not held during Kratzmeyer’s junior year due to the pandemic.)
She has previously cleared 13 feet in high school.
