Kratzmeyer extends UT Tyler pole vault record
Mineola 2021 graduate Abeni Kratzmeyer, a sophomore at the University of Texas at Tyler, has eclipsed her own school record in the pole vault.
At the Washburn Open in Topeka, Kan. Feb. 4, Kratzmeter upped the record by a tenth of a meter when she cleared 3.92 meters.
She cleared the first height in one jump but took three to clear the height of 3.77 meters.
That moved the bar to 3.92 meters, and Kratzmeyer was able to clear that mark on her third attempt to claim a third place finish.
She won two state championships while at Mineola.
