Musgraves up for CMA Female Vocalist Award
Mineola’s Kacey Musgraves has been nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year by the Country Music Association as she prepares for other highlights this season.
The CMA Awards will be televised live Wednesday, Nov. 2 at 7 central on ABC.
The Nashville artist is also set to kick things off at the Texas State Fair on opening night Friday, Sept. 30. Fans will find her on the Chevrolet Main Stage and the concert is free with fair admission.
Additionally, Musgraves is producing “A Very Kacey Christmas.” The CD will hit stores Oct. 28 and vinyl will be Nov. 18.The new album features Leon Bridges, Willie Nelson and the Quebe Sisters. The album was produced by Musgraves, Misa Arriaga and Kyle Ryan and will feature four original co-written songs, as well as covers of eight holiday favorites.
“Working on my first Christmas album has been one of the most enriching musical experiences I’ve ever had and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it,” she said. “I really wanted to create a whimsical throwback holiday record, one that evokes feelings of nostalgia and simpler times.”
