John D. Hanson, 1946-2020

John D. Hanson, 73, of Ben Wheeler, passed away on Monday, Jan. 6, 2020 at his home. He was born on Aug. 17, 1946 in Mineola to the late Thomas Hanson and Mildred Stanford Hanson.

He and his wife Patricia were the former owners of Mineola Flower Shop and he was a member of the Jimmy Swaggart Miniseries.

He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter-in-law, Andrea Hollis

He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Hanson of Ben Wheeler; sons, Edd Hanson and his Raina of Como, David Wayne Attaway of Pueblo, Colo., Donny Attaway of Green Valley, Mo., Johnny Attaway and wife Angie of Lee's Summit, Mo., Darrell Attaway and wife Shannon of Mabank and Kenneth Attaway of Winnsboro; brothers, Tommy Hanson and wife Diane of Tyler and Jim Hanson and wife Shara of Mineola; sisters, Shirley Brooke of Mineola and Sherry Nichols and husband David of Mineola; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10 at Mineola Christian Fellowship with Bro. Jim Clark officiating.

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
