Hawks take down Beckville
The Hawkins Hawks kept pace in the district 16-AA basketball race with a 73-59 win over Beckville on Jan. 8.
The Hawks used a strong first quarter to take a 26-16 lead and never let the Bearcats back in the game.
The Hawks led 39-33 at intermission and took a 62-46 lead into the final eight minutes after a 23 point third quarter.
It was a true team effort on offense for Hawkins with Camron Taylor scoring 18 points followed by Tritian Garrett with 15, Collin Barber, 13, Zach Code ,11, Akim Richmond, eight, Paeton Smith, five, Jayden Dacus, two and Tyson Cutley, one. Conde had three triples in the game while Garrett and Richmond had two each.
The Hawkins JV beat Beckville 34-23.
The Hawks were at home Tuesday against first-place Union Grove and travel to Harleton on Friday.
