Hawkins voters elect incumbents

Hawkins voters elected incumbents to the school board and city council in the May 6 election.

In the school board race, incumbent Janice Vonner garnered 277 of the votes and fellow incumbent Robbie White received 199 to win their seats. Challenger Steven Holland received 190.

In the Hawkins City election, Place 2 Councilperson Clara Kay was top vote-getter with 99 votes and her opposition, Silas Franks, received 37 votes. For Place 5, Incumbent Norma Oglesby received 84 votes and John Wise got 55. Wayne Kirkpatrick, who was unopposed for Place 4, received 92 votes.
