Hawkins varsity girls claim third straight victory


The Hawkins Lady Hawks won their third straight game after beating the Beckville Lady Bearcats 36-30 last Tuesday.

The Lady Hawks used a 12-point second quarter on the strength of a 12-2 run to open up a double-digit lead and went in to the halftime break leading 21-8.

Raeli Smith led the charge for Hawkins’ offense, scoring 10 points. She poured in four points during the second period alone. Smith filled the stat sheet elsewhere as well accounting for six rebounds and three steals.

Carolyn Searer also scored in double figures with 10 points for Hawkins  on 5-for-11 shooting.

Also helping the effort for Hawkins was Alyssa Eddington  who had six points, six rebounds and three steals.

Emily Moore led Hawkins in rebounding with 12. Moore also had two points and three steals.
