Hawkins ladies net two wins
The Hawkins Lady Hawks whipped a pair of Class 3A teams before the Thanksgiving break last week. On Monday they took out White Oak 55-40 followed by a 47-35 win over Sabine Tuesday.
In the White Oak contest, Emily Moore was outstanding with 14 points and 20 rebounds to lead the way. The Lady Hawks fell behind early and were down 27-24 at the half. Hawkins came on strong in the second half on the strength of a 17-4 run to win going away.
For Hawkins, Lynli Dacus had 12 points with Jaycee Cheshire adding seven points and eight rebounds, Alyssa Eddington seven points, three and five steals, Logan Jaco six points, and harlie Conover four points and three rebounds.
The Hawkins JV also won 55-30.
Cheshire led the way in Tuesday’s big win over Sabine with 18 points and nine rebounds. Also contributing were Jaco with nine points, Dacus seven points, Moore and Eddington six each.
The Lady Hawks are at home Tuesday against Cumberland and will be at Union Grove for a tournament Thursday – Saturday.
