Hallman crowned 2020 queen
Abby Hallman was crowned the 2020 Sweet Potato Queen on Saturday in Golden.
“It’s very special to me,” Hallman said.
She received a sash, draped over her shoulder by last year's queen, Justina Peterson, and a crown, placed upon her head by Miss Colleyville, Mallory Fuller.
“I honestly did not expect it at all," expressed Hallman, "And I would have been so happy if any of those girls got it, because I know every one of them is just as deserving, if not more. So it is very special to me to be able to get it.”
She plans to go to college to become a neonatal nurse practitioner, toward which the scholarship money that comes with the crown will go.
Other pageant winners were Mr. Tator Tot Daxton Ralph, Miss TatorTot Riley Jean Hughes, Miss Potato Sprout Lakyn Gaskill, Mr. Potato Sprout Crew Driskill, Miss Curly Fry Brynlee Mason, Mr. Curly Fry Briggs Hooton, Junior Miss Sweet Potato Piper Hallman and Sweet Potato Princess Jade Kruse.
