Though rainy weather forced cancellation of the tractor pull, the Golden Sweet Potato Festival went on without further challenges last week.

Rain cleared in time for the Saturday morning parade and following events.

The annual auction raised $30,000, while donors combined to award the scholarship for the new Sweet Potato Queen, Alba-Golden senior Piper Hallman, for $23,000.
