The Wood County Health Advisory Council is sponsoring a free health fair at Gov. Jim Hogg City Park and the Quitman Civic Center from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 11.

Representatives from UT Health East Texas will be available to provide healthcare information and free health screenings.

There also will be live entertainment, giveaways, children’s activities, food and local vendors and a chance to win prizes throughout the day.

“UT Health East Texas is thrilled to be a part of this event focusing on the health of the residents of Wood County,” said UT Health Quitman CEO Jared Smith. “This is a great way to bring our community together around an important topic and have fun while doing it.”

The Carter BloodCare bus and the UT Health East Texas Mobile mammogram unit also will be at the event. Mammogram spaces are limited, so to schedule an appointment in advance, call 903-531-8000 and press 5.

Vendor sites are still available, and businesses that would like to be a sponsor, email quitmanchamber@quitmancoc.com. Deadline is May 31.
