Free concert planned at Nature Preserve

A free concert Friday, July 5 will be held at the Mineola Nature Preserve from 6-9 p.m.

Lee Mathis and the Brutally Handsome will be featured.

Admission to the preserve is free, and there is no cover charge for the concert.

A free cornhole tournament will be hosted by the Mineola Dairy Queen.

Food and drink by FatBaxx BBQ will be available for sale, and beer will be available to purchase on site.

The Mineola Parks and Open Spaces Advisory Board is hosting the event to benefit the nature preserve.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Come on over to Mineola’s beautiful Historic Select Theater and hear the Lake Country Symphonic Band’s Christmasy “Everything Christmas” concert.

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
