Parents and caregivers are being invited to learn how to properly use and install car seats in an event in the parking lot of Meredith Memorial Stadium in Mineola on Friday from 8:30-11:30 a.m.
“For a car seat to best protect your child, it must be the one that fits your child, your vehicle, and one that you will use correctly every time you travel,” states a press release from the Wood County Extension Office.
The extension office is urging all parents and caregivers to attend the event. Certified technicians will be available to provide on-site child safety seat inspections and education between 8:30 and 11:30 a.m.
“Securing your children property in age- and size-appropriate child safety seats, in the back seat of your vehicle, is the most effective thing you can do to protect them in the event of a crash,” the release states. Parents and caregivers are advised to take their child and to know their height and weight.
Meredith Memorial Stadium is located at 1641 West Loop 564 in Mineola.

The event is being sponsored by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Wood County and the Texas Department of Transportation.
