The Quitman Bulldogs once again hurt themselves with errors in a 15-5 road loss at Harmony last Tuesday.

Harmony raced to a 5-0 lead after two innings, but the Bulldogs fought back in the top of the third with four runs. Landon Richey started things with a walk. Cody Hawley got a single, Ford Tannebaum got an RBI on an error and Mason Reynolds moved the runners on a ground out to highlight the inning.

Harmony went ahead 7-4 with four runs in the bottom of the third inning. The Eagles added four more runs in the fourth inning, two in the fifth and two more in the sixth inning to claim the 10-run mercy rule victory.

Quitman hit the ball well, getting eight hits in the game, but six errors cost the Bulldogs. Justin Matthews, Aiden Corrior and Hayden Cook each had two hits for Quitman.

The Bulldogs lost to Grand Saline 7-3 in a non-district game. Haley, Reynolds and Ford Tannebaum each had multiple hits as Quitman had eight total hits.

Quitman has a 2-4 record in district play with games at Mt. Vernon Tuesday and home against Chapel Hill this Friday. Both games are set to begin at 6 p.m.
