Lady Bulldogs hold on for 1-point win
The Quitman Lady Bulldogs used tough defense to take a 32-31 road win at New Diana last Tuesday.
The Lady Bulldogs fell behind 14-12 in the first quarter but came back to hold New Diana to just two second quarter points while scoring nine to take a 21-16 lead at the half. Neither team could get much going in the second half with Quitman scoring 11 points to New Diana’s 15. The Lady Eagles hit a three-point shot at the buzzer to make it the one-point game in Quitman’s favor.
Kaysi Parker led Quitman in scoring with 11 points and had six offensive rebounds. Reiny Luman added six points while freshman Allie Berry had five points and a team high eight rebounds. Sadie Vander Schaaf added four points while Maddy Pence and Addison Marcee each had three points.
Quitman opened district play Tuesday at home against Mt. Vernon followed by the short road trip to Mineola Friday. They host Harmony Dec. 21.
