David E. Rodgers, 1941-2020

David E. Rodgers passed away Thursday, Nov. 12, 2020 due to complications from COVID-19.

David was born in Dallas on March 9, 1941. He graduated from South Oak Cliff High School in 1959. David retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone in 1999. He was a member of the Wood County Cowboy Church in Quitman. He officiated football on the high school-college level for over 30 years.

David was preceded in death by his parents, James and Beatrice Rodgers, and two brothers at a young age.

David is survived by his wife, Linda; son, Joel Rodgers; daughter, Jennifer Mills; grandson, Carson Powers; and one brother, Jim Rodgers.

A private memorial will be held at a later date.

The family has requested that there be no flowers sent at this time, but donations can be made to honor David in his name at Wood County Cowboy Church, 3435 FM 2088, Quitman, TX 75783.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
