Curtis Ray Kelley, 1956-2020

Curtis Ray Kelley, 63, of Quitman went on to join our Lord and Savior on May 19, 2020. He was born to parents Reathell and Ruby Kelley on May 28, 1956. He grew up and lived in the Quitman area all his life. He married the love of his life, Darlene, on Sept. 29, 1979 and they spent 40 wonderful years together building a life and family. He was employed at Tyler Pipe where he worked as a grinder for 25 years. 

Curtis is preceded in death by his grandson, Jermetris Lipscomb.

Left to cherish his precious memory are his wife of 40 years, Darlene Kelley; sons, Curtis Kelley (wife Ladonna) of Mineola and Wilbur McKind of Nacogdoches; daughters, Vontisha Kimble (husband Lester) of Lindale and Veronica Lipscomb of Mineola; sister, Vanessa Kelley of Ponder; and his 10 grandchildren, Vontara Kimble, Leston Kimble, Jermiah Lipscomb, Jermarius Lipscomb, Dezmond Lipscomb, Viviana Wesley, Corben Kelley, Cameron Kelley, Alexis McKind and Wy Kyria McKind. He will also be greatly missed by the friends he made throughout his lifetime. 

Active pallbearers were Fred Pipkin, Anthony Berry, Earl Harper, Jeremay Lipscomb, Bobby Roy Grant and Bill Earl Grant.

Honorary pallbearers were Lester Kimble, Leston Kimble, Jermiah Lipscomb, Cameron Kelley, Dezmond Lipscomb, Jermarius Lipscomb, Corben Kelley and Darvente Lankford.

Visitation for Curtis Kelley was held at Lowe Funeral Home Saturday, May 23, 2020 at noon, followed by the service at Lowe Funeral Home at 2 p.m.

He was laid to rest at the Freeman Cemetery in Mineola.
