COVID-19 case count jumps by five as testing doubles
The latest dashboard from NETHealth on Tuesday shows Wood County with 38 total cases of COVID-19, an increase of five since yesterday.
The state shows that, since Friday, the number of residents tested jumped from 292 to 607 today. This coincides with the state's order for all nursing home residents and employees to be tested.
All five new cases were recorded in Winnsboro, which now has 20.
Twenty-one patients are considered recovered, and with three deaths, that leaves 14 active cases.
Half of the cases (19) are in the 60 and over age groups.
The five new cases are all females, and four are in the 80 and over group.
