County salaries receiving two percent increase
Wood County commissioners included an across the board 2% raise for county employees for the new 2021 budget year.
Wood County Judge Lucy Hebron will make a base salary of $69,071 and a $25,200 stipend from the state, along with travel ($3,012), phone allowance ($1,080) and longevity pay ($160) raising the amount to $98,523 for 2021.
Wood County 402nd District Court Judge Jeff Fletcher sets the county auditor and court reporter salaries. Auditor Terri Sellars did not request a pay raise, but is entitled to the 2% across the board raise which brings her salary up to $94,545. Court Reporter Cassie Condrey’s salary was set at $77,611.
County Commissioners Virgil Junior Holland (Pct. 1), Jerry Gaskill (Pct. 2), Mike Simmons (Pct. 3) and Russell Acker (Pct. 4) are each set to receive $69,071.
Also receiving $69,071 are other elected officials including Sheriff-elect Kelly Cole, County Clerk Kelley Price, District Clerk Donna Huston, Treasurer Becky Burford and Tax Assessor Carol Taylor.
Justices of the peace salaries were set at $61,053. Those JPs are Pct. 1 Tony Gilbreath, Pct. 2 Janae Holland, Pct. 3 Jerry Parker and Pct. 4 Cindy Weems. All four constables will receive $50,154. They are: Pct. 1 Steve Bowser, Pct. 2 Kelly Smit; and Pct. 3 John McQueen. A constable in Pct. 4 will be elected from a write-in vote during the Nov. 3 general election.
