County Junior Livestock Show commences Tuesday in Quitman

The Wood County Junior Livestock Show kicks off its run Tuesday, March 28 and concludes Friday, March 31 with the sale of champions at 6 p.m.

All events take place at the new Quitman High School ag barn.

The broiler show will start the event at 8 a.m. on Tuesday the 28th.

Remaining events that day include the rabbit show at 10 and the ag mechanics show at 1 p.m.

Wednesday begins at 9 a.m. with the lamb show followed by the goat show at 10.

At 1 p.m. the dairy heifer show is scheduled and the hog show gets underway at 6 p.m.

Thursday’s activities include the beef heifer show at 8 a.m. in one ring, while the other ring has the remaining breeding classes, sheep, goats and gilts.

The commercial heifer show is next at 6 p.m. and the steer show follows at 7.

Friday morning begins with the floral contest at 8 followed by the food contest at 10, as well as the speaking contest.

Judging of the photography contest is at noon.
