Communities schedule Halloween events Friday

The traditional downtown Mineola trick or treating will be held on Friday, Oct. 31 from 5-7 p.m. The mini-train at Iron Horse Square Park will also be running from 5-8 p.m.

Quitman will have its downtown candy walk on the 31st plus Halloween-themed activities at Jim Hogg City Park during the Wood County Old Settlers Reunion (see related story).

Trunk or treat will be held on the square in Alba. Set up is from 4:30-5 p.m. with contests for best costume and best decorated trunk.
