Commissioners sail through short agenda


Wood County Commissioners took care of a short item agenda in about 10 minutes Friday morning highlighted by five personnel actions in the Wood County Sheriff’s Department.

Two new deputies, John David McQueen and John Matthew Peacock, began their duties at $20.24 per hour. Melissa Pollard was moved to a deputy position at $20.24 per hour and Aaron Kinkaid went from deputy to patrol sergeant at $20.49 per hour. Records clerk Lori Bentley was made administrative secretary at a salary of $17.57 per hour.

In other matters commissioners approved:

A resolution of the donation of a trained canine from Winnsboro Police Department;

Payroll and claims;

A road permit for Pct. 1;.

An inter-local contract with Winnsboro ISD for street repairs and materials;

The racial profiling report for Constable Pct. 2 Kelly Smith;

Constable reports;

A contract with Suddenlink for optical internet access for Justice of the Peace Pct. 3;

A proposal from Office Pride to provide the county with cleaning at Justice of the Peace Pct. 3.
