Mineola police reports for the past week included:

April 6 – The post office reported a welfare concern when they noticed a man sitting in a car for a long period of time. Officers talked with the man, found his steering wheel locked and helped him fix the problem.

Officers assisted the fire department on East Commerce when a call was received concerning a gas odor. It was found to be a gas leak on a parked vehicle.

A cell phone was found at the civic center and turned over to police. Police investigators contacted the phone provider and found it not registered. It is being held at the department.

At 7:46 p.m. a call was made to the police concerning people on the roof of downtown businesses. Officers did not see them, but did locate several boys in the alley and told them not to be on property without consent. At 7:50 p.m. a man on South Johnson reported the same group of boys in the alley. The boys were talked to again by police about other people’s property.

9:46 p.m. A woman on West Front reported a group of boys walking along the train tracks. Officers spoke to the group again who said they were walking to the bowling alley.

April 7 – Police received a report of teenagers climbing onto the roof of the Henry Hotel. Officers explained to the teens they were trespassing and warned them not to be on the property.

A car was stopped on Wren Street for expired registration. The officer arrested Jennifer Ranae Cullum, 32, of Alba for driving while license invalid and operating a motor vehicle without having liability insurance.

April 8 – A man on Minwood reported solicitors in the area selling cleaner. They were reported to be pushy and made him uncomfortable. The three men were located and officer informed them of the city ordinance regarding solicitor permits.

A man was observed driving with a small child in his lap at the intersection of the loop and Highway 37. Pictures were taken by a citizen and an officer went to the man’s house and warned him of child safety.

At 11:06 p.m. a report of a disturbance on McWhorter Street was made to the police saying a woman pulled a gun on another woman at the location. When officers talked with the victim she did not wish to file charges as no one had pointed a gun or made threats.

April 9 – A man reported he saw several juveniles coming out of a house being remodeled on Graham Street. An officer identified the juveniles and found a window had been broken. This is under investigation.

A woman reported a cell phone stolen from her car around 5 a.m. in the WalMart parking lot. The incident is being investigated.

At ll:34 p.m. a disturbance was reported on Bowdoin Street when a group of men arrived at a residence and were yelling and fighting with another man. The man refused to file charges, but the resident wanted the men issued criminal trespass warnings from the property.

April 10 - At 11:22 a.m. A woman reported her cell phone stolen while eating at Golden Chick the previous evening. The phone was later located in the woman’s mailbox. During the investigation it was discovered the phone was not taken from the restaurant. It was found at another location and returned, along with her driver’s license.

WalMart reported a man walked out of the store the day before with a television valued at $128 in his cart without paying for it. The incident is under investigation.

A welfare check was reported on a man who seemed intoxicated at the train depot. The 56 year old man was waiting on a ride and showed no signs of intoxication.

At 8:13 p.m. Z Grocery and Deli asked that two people be issued criminal trespass warnings from the location.

At 9:46 p.m. A complaint of a female driving down Johnson and West Patten several times with loud music and yelling was made. Officers found the car and driver at EZ Mart and advised her to stay out of the area.

James David Butler, 47, Mineola, was arrested at WalMart for a city traffic warrant. H was seen by an officer who knew he had an outstanding warrant.

April 11 – At 7:58 a.m. an unoccupied SUV was found on Sycamore and University Streets in high water. The driver had gone for help and the car was towed and roadblocks were put up.

It was reported that a car was hit overnight on Giles Street

Aaron’s reported 17 theft of service cases involving merchandise under contract that payments have not been made on. The case is under investigation.

April 12 – A contractor reported a large amount of cash was taken from his vehicle while he was working at the new Longhorn RV Center construction site. The theft is being investigated.

A Social Security card was found at the civic center and turned in to police. The department is attempting to contact the owner.

At 11:40 p.m. Tiffany Brooke Humble, 30 of Mineola was arrested for possession of a controlled substance. Humble was stopped by officers on Giraud Street for a defective brake light. She had two children in the car that were released to a relative.
