City and Mineola ISD to partner for CTE staffer

Posted

The city of Mineola will consider a grant partnership for career and technical education next month with the Mineola school district.

City Manager Mercy Rushing briefed the city council last week on the two entities using some of the Perkins Grant the school district received to hire a person full-time for six months to work on expanding the CTE program.

The city would house the CTE assistant, Rushing said, as the school district does not have office space for the position.

Rushing said the person would assist with communication among the various partners working toward establishing a CTE regional hub in Mineola, including area school districts and businesses.
