Christmas Eve services planned

Since Christmas is a celebration of Jesus coming, most churches have a Christmas Eve service – especially since, in 2023, Christmas Eve falls on a Sunday. Below are a few local churches holding a specific service for Christmas Eve. If you would like to find more churches that might be having a Christmas event, check out the “Wood County Church Directory” for a listing of more local churches.

First Baptist Church – Sunday, December 24 at 11 a.m. This service will feature carol singing, candle lighting, and “marveling at the birth of our Savior as we prepare for His coming.”

First Methodist – There will be a combined service at 9 a.m., which will be held at the Ministry Center (612 N. Newsom St). At 6 o’clock there will be a traditional candlelight service in the sanctuary.

The Church of St. Dunstan Episcopal – At 8 p.m., there will be a Christmas Eve service.

St. Peter the Apostle Catholic – This church offers a 9 a.m. English mass, a Spanish mass at noon, a bilingual Vigil of the Nativity of the Lord at 5:30 p.m., and a bilingual midnight mass
