Services for Charles Terry Plum, 75, of Plano were held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 3, 2021 at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.

Interment was in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Alba.

Mr. Plum passed away Nov. 26, 2021 in Dallas. He was born Nov. 28, 1945, in Pittsburg, the only child of Frederick Warner Plum and Inez Lura (Holcomb) Plum. Terry was a proud fourth generation Texan. He grew up in East Dallas, moved to Mt. Pleasant and graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School. Terry attended East Texas State University (now A&M-Commerce) and earned a bachelor of science degree in agriculture. He was drafted into the Vietnam War in the late 1960s. He served as sergeant in the medical corps, stationed in Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio and at Fort Benning in Columbus, Ga., before receiving an honorable discharge.

Terry married Alice Ann Hooton Oct. 12, 1968 and had two children, Jon Marcus Plum and Anna Brooke Plum. In the early 1970s, Terry accepted a position with Fort Wayne, Ind.-based Central Soya Company. He enjoyed great success at Central Soya and received several prestigious industry and sales awards. Terry founded Plum & Associates in 1990, an industrial food brokerage company. His work was rewarded with tremendous growth since the time of its inception and remains an industry leader as Plum Group Foods. In 2008, they built a home on family land in Alba, known as The Plum Ranch.

Terry is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ann Plum; children, Jon and Shannon Plum of Austin and Rick and Brooke Herold of Dallas; and five grandchildren.
