Caring and Sharing toy drive underway
It is time again for the Mineola Caring and Sharing toy drive.
Giving Trees have been placed in several locations to help the Caring and Sharing community toy drive this Christmas season.
The Giving Trees are filled with ornaments that contain the gender and age (from birth to 12 years) of a child in need.
Anyone wanting to help with the toy drive may take an ornament from one of the trees, purchase a game or toy with a value of at least $15 appropriate for the child listed, and return the unwrapped gift with the ornament to any of the trees by Monday, Dec. 7.
The tree locations are Mineola City Hall, Mineola Chamber of Commerce, Mineola Community Bank, Kitchen’s Hardware and Deli, Methodist Ministry Center, First Christian Church and Brookshire’s.
This is the 22nd year the toy drive has helped Caring and Sharing with toys. Last year over 200 toys were purchased for needy children through the giving trees, which is hoped to be exceeded this year.
Christmas will be difficult for families this year, and the toys will make it a little brighter for these children.
