Boys hoops playoffs; Mineola, Quitman win

Mineola defeated DeKalb Tuesday in Pittsburg for the bidistrict championship, 59-38.

Mineola will take on Jefferson for the area playoff 7 p.m. Friday in Hallsville.

At halftime in Union Grove, Quitman leads Atlanta 32-24 in their bidistrict match.

Quitman wins 53-47 and will face Waskom next, a 45-40 winner over Gladewater. Game is set for 7 p.m. Friday at Union Grove.

Monday night the Winnsboro Lady Raiders advanced to the regional tournament with a 78-39 win over the Mineola Lady Jackets.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
