Bobbie Sue Taylor, 1931-2020

Bobbie Sue Taylor, 88, of Quitman passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at Christus Mother Frances Hospital – Winnsboro.  

Bobbie was born in Wood County on Aug. 8, 1931 to her parents, Lemuel Morgan and Ruth Gilbreath Morgan. She was married to G.W. Taylor for 63 years, prior to his passing in November 2009. They had two children, son, Gary Wayne Taylor, and daughter, Vicky Taylor Pehl.

Bobbie and G.W. lived in Dallas where she worked for Borden and for Texas Instruments until attending LVN school to become a nurse. Upon completion of nursing school she worked in the medical field in the Dallas area prior to moving back to the Quitman/Yantis area in the ’60s. After moving back to her childhood farm she began working for the Murley Clinic in Winnsboro, where she worked for 43 years for Dr. Warren Murley.  

Bobbie loved to garden and grow plants and flowers. She loved to gather seeds from different plants and put them back in the ground to see what they would grow.  

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband G.W.; her sisters, Betty Moon, Gladys Overbay, Dorothy Norton and Ann Reeves; her brothers, Curtis Morgan, and Johnny Mack Morgan, and great-great-grandson Zander Bates.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Gary Taylor and wife Brenda Taylor, and Vicky Pehl; her sister, Mary Dunavin; her grandchildren, Greg Taylor, Jeff Taylor and wife Shanna Taylor, Angie Norris Gates and husband Adley, Matt Taylor and wife Katie Taylor, Chad Norris, and Brandon Pehl.  Bobbie had 21 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was also loved by many nieces and nephews.  

Serving as pallbearers are Greg Taylor, Jeff Taylor, Matt Taylor, Chad Norris, Brandon Pehl, Stevie Ray Carter, Chad Norris, Jr., Russell Graves and Adley Gates and Michael Pehl.
