Commissioners act on short agenda
Wood County Commissioners moved quickly through a short agenda last Friday morning, approving an inter-local agreement between the Wood County Fire Marshal with the Quitman Police Department relating to evidence.
“This is just an inter-local agreement between me and the Quitman Police Department to take care of evidence for me,” Wood County Fire Marshal Tully Davidson said. Right now I don’t have a good place to store it and they do,” Davidson said. “This has already passed through their city council and now we just need your approval.”
There were several personnel actions approved. Louis Walter Dahlman will fill the jailer position left by Christopher Brady and will be paid $17.06 per hour. In Precinct #3, road tech Richard A. Stanley was given a raise from $17.06 to $17.67 per hour. Also in Precinct #3, Shannon D. Green was hire as temporary help for $10 per hour. In the tax office, Sarah Baker got a salary increase from $15.44 to $15.98 per hour while Tommie Bradshaw was hired part time at $10 per hour.
In other actions commissioners approved:
• The payroll of $310,520.85; health and dental claims of $23,161.50; and accounts payable of $$417,645.26.
• Receiving of $6,728.83 from excess proceeds for Wood County tax sale properties.
• Setting public hearing for revision of lots 292, 293 and 294 Section 4, Holly Lake Ranch Subdivision for October 7, 2016.
• A minimum bid from Weldon Davis for the tax sale struck off property at Sun Eagle Bay
• A trade-in of a 1995 used Ford F-150 truck in Precinct #3 for a like kind purchase of a Ford F-150 truck.
